Made it to the famous Angelo's Pizzeria in our quest for the best Cheesteak Sandwich in Philly and it delivered. Absolutely delish! We orders it with Cooper Sharp cheese and roasted long hots and I highly recommend it. The Bread...perfect balance of crispy crust and chewy, but not too chewy middle. So cheesy and perfectly cooked and marinated thinly sliced steak. I will compare all others to this one and can't wait to go back. The line is long it goes fast and it's well worth it!

Angelo's Pizza in Philly is a hidden gem! Their Philly Cheesesteak is on point--definitely giving Gino's a run for their money. The steak was perfectly seasoned, and the cheese melted just right. We waited about an hour, but hit up a local bar in the meantime, so the wait wasn't bad at all. And let me tell you, that cheesesteak was worth it. Pro tip: call ahead and order in advance to skip the wait. Also, heads up, they're cash-only, so come prepared. Thank me later!

Heard this place had the best cheesesteaks so we had to go. We went on a Friday ~4pm and they said our food would be ready in 25 mins. This place is CASH ONLY. The sandwiches were 5/5. We got a beef cheesesteak and a hoagie. We def could've just split one but we wanted to try both. There are no tables just if you walk a couple blocks into little Italy, there's a few tables. I heard that you can do call in orders to save time so I suggest doing that cause I heard the wait could be up to 1.5 hrs

Portnoy gave Angelo's pizza a 9.1, which makes it his best pizza in Philly. He's also given only 20 9s in 1,041 pizza reviews, so I knew it had to be legit. The first time my girlfriend and I tried to get an Angelo's pizza, we waited in an egregious line and when we got to the front we were told they were no longer serving pizza for the day. This was at 1:30pm on a Sunday. Pain. This past weekend, we did a 9:20 Barry's class and got in the still decently long Angelo's line at 10:50am, 10 minutes before they open. Fool me once... When talking to Philly locals, they talk more about the cheesesteak than the pizza so I knew we had to run one of those as well. We got to the front quickly and ordered a prosciutto/pepperoni pizza, along with a cheesesteak with American Cheese and onions. After waiting about 20 minutes, my gf got a text that the pizza was ready. We got our food and couldn't wait. We opened the pizza and ripped a slice each right there. The under carriage held its form with a great crunch on every bite. And this prosciutto... it tasted like it was fresh out of Italy...my mouth is watering just recapping this. The best pizza I've had this year. The Cheesesteak was operating at peak performance as well. It wasn't doused in cheese, the cheese was a compliment to the perfectly tender steak. What really set it apart though was the sesame bread. It was fluffy, yet crunchy on the outside. They are cash only and no slices, as the owner says "it would be too crazy otherwise." It's crazy anyways, but I feel him lol. Philly has got to be the most underrated city in the US for food. I get surprised every time I come down here. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

As part of the cheese steak tour, Angelo's does not disappoint! Even though it is a neighborhood pizza place, the cheese steak is phenomenal here. The wait was not too long, and you could see many people leaving with both pizzas and brown paper bags for game day. Bring cash unless you want to use the nearby atm machine. Definately worth coming here when in Philadelphia.

An iconic spot in the philly cheesesteak scene. The service is efficient with multiple people taking orders. A reminder that this is CASH ONLY, but there is an ATM in the store for those who need to withdraw money. The sandwiches are hefty and generously filled with toppings and meat. I've heard amazing things about the bread, but was slightly disappointed with the bread mostly due to high expectations. Overall, the cheesesteak was good but didn't wow me with the hype surrounding it. Decently priced and split one sandwich amongst two given the generous portions. Would recommend for anyone looking for a solid cheesesteak with great flavor and portions!

I only ordered one item from here, and it took more than an hour for me to finally obtain it, and it was very worth it. While I am not local to Philly, and I am sure locals have more places to recommend for good cheesesteak sandwiches, I strong recommend this place if one wants to try! The bread was very tasty and I could hear the sound of the crust as I was chewing. It was good quality for sure! There was a lot of ribeye meat which was a plus because it was very juicy and tasty, and together with the cheese, which I believe was provolone, and the onion pieces, which were soft and cooked, I got full from my very first Philly cheesesteak experience. The sandwich was big as well, so one could be full with a very reasonable price of around $16-17. Oh, and one word of caution, the establishment is cash only, so please be prepared to bring cash to pay!

The line will be up the block and around the corner, but they have an efficient system. Wait time was about 20 minutes for two pizzas and two steak and cheese hoagies. They take your number and text you when it's ready. You may want to make sure you travel with someone who can tag team so one of you circle the block while the other does the ordering/pick-up (call in advance to save some time) as you will be hard pressed to find parking. The pizza was top notch!! The subs were super stuffed and delicious. Philly, I don't know why y'all are adverse to seasoning your steak, but I added a touch of Cajun seasoning when I got home; rest assured, the hoagie was sub was still really good without it, so don't mind me and my preferences...
